Sepia Statue
Last week, my coworker had asked us go to the Hsi Lai Buddhist Temple, located in Hacienda Heights, CA, for his birthday celebration. He has been asking us for 4 years to go, and we finally relented. He had always talked about the gardens and the buildings and scenery, as well as the food. This temple encompasses 15 acres, with Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture. It was built to serve as a spiritual and cultural center for those interested in learning Buddhism and Chinese culture. While my coworker is not Buddhist, he just really has an appreciation for this place and wanted us to experience it. Camera’s were not allowed inside, but I did manage to get a few pictures of the entryway and this particular statue in front of the staircase leading up to the entrance. It was a really beautiful temple, with much to look at. You can check it out at : http://www.hsilai.org/.
