love lessons learned from watching chick flicks

I thought it would be fun to do a post on love lessons you have learned from watching chick flicks, because underneath all that laughter, tears, etc. there is some substance to be learned.

lesson #1: It is possible to move on after getting your heart broken (ex. 500 Days of Summer)

lesson #2: You don’t need to travel around the world just to move on (ex. Eat, Pray, Love)

lesson #3: Adding some spontaneity and adventure to your life can set you up for a heart-pounding, life-changing 24 hours.

lesson #4: Learn to trust your gut and never fear potentially making a fool of yourself in the pursuit of romance (ex. Sleepless in Seattle)

lesson #5: The connection you crave could be right under your nose.

lesson #6: If he doesn’t call you, he’s just not that into you. (ex. He’s Just Not That Into You)

lesson #7: Opposites can attract. Strong traits do not disappear, but great couples move in a little more toward the middle; they soften each other’s edges and accept each other’s inherent differences. Troubled couples tend to move to further extremes. (ex. The Ugly Truth)

“Look, in my opinion, the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you, the right person is still going to think the sun shines out your ass. That’s the kind of person that’s worth sticking with.” ~Juno
