Now what’s he going to say

Harold Camping predicted that yesterday, 5/21/11, the world was going to end; that those who believed in Christ would be raptured (taken to heaven) and then God would unleash his powers on the rest of the world until the world comes to its end in October 2011.  Clearly, that did not happen.  The Bible states in Matthew 24:36 “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”  So I really don’t know why or how this man thought he could use mathematical equations to make this prediction.

I can only imagine what was going through this man’s mind last night and then today.  I assume he shut himself off from the rest of the world and his thousands of angry/confused followers.  It was reported today that he finally spoke this:

“I’m looking for answers,” Camping said, adding that meant frequent prayer and consultations with friends.

“But now I have nothing else to say,” he said, closing the door to his home. “I’ll be back to work Monday and will say more then.”

Because of the wrong prediction of Harold Camping, many of his followers have quit their jobs, sold everything they have, and even spent all their money in preparation for the doomsday. And now, most of them are broke, confused, and left hanging.

Another irreparable effect is how most “Christians” are being hounded with jokes and ridicule by Atheists nationwide. Some people were even forced to defend their faith in public places because of this widespread failed prediction.

I’ll be curious to see how he handles this situation and tries to explain why we are all still here.

Did any of you believe his prediction?  Did you do anything to commemorate the world ending and/or not ending?

As a Christian, I believe like you believe that no man can predict the day nor hour of the rapture so the fact that this idiot is even considered in the same breath as actual Christians is ridiculous to me!
The REAL Christians never thought the 21st would be the rapture so no one should be making jokes about ALL Christians….the only ones fooled by this man were his followers!
I’ve joked about it after the fact simply because I KNEW he was wrong and it was like a “I told you so” moment for me because I am confident enough in my faith that I was sure he would be proved wrong…the ones using THIS circumstance to laugh at ALL Christians are the same ones that have been heckling and joking about us from day one…
What the hecklers fail to realize is that the “rapture” itself is no joke and it WILL come, only there will be NO warning and no one will be joking then either

I’ve always felt that if it wasn’t important for the son of God to know the day and time, then it’s certainly not important for me to know!

I didn’t do anything about all this, but feel sorry for the poor souls who are in a pickle because of this man and his prediction. He should have read his Bible more carefully.

That guy has to eat a big piece of humble pie! I can’t believe he had that many followers who believed him SO whole-heartedly that they’d quit their jobs, etc.
“I’m looking for answers” and “I have nothing more to say”?? lol.. sure. NOW you don’t. Would love to have been there to see the look on his face when it hit 6pm and nothing happened.

End of the world predictions have been happening for centuries. Unless the government tells me a meteor is heading straight for us I am not one to believe that kind of racket. The best thing you can do is live life to the fullest every day.
