When you look in the mirror, what do you see?
Are you still the same person you imagined you’d be?
You reflect upon the shadows that illuminate your past
wondering how you grew up so fast.
What does the future hold, where will it lead?
Will it be full of laughter and love, or envy and greed?
Do you recognize that person in front of you now?
You make sure its you by shaking your head and furrowing your brow.
Time keeps on passing, memories fade away.
What will you make of your life for today?
Here are some photos I took that show reflections and shadows:

Hey Stacey, this is my first comment on your blog. Lovely poem, how true the words are as we all get a bit older. I really liked the photos, very clear and stunning images. I’ve also done a hot air balloon ride, it was awesome!

Hi Stacey, Your words were beautiful, painting a picture in my mind. You caused me pause time and again. I can say that I may not be who I thought I would be but I love who I am. I hope you do to!
